Assertiveness for Women (starts tomorrow, still a few seats left)

An 8-week training group for women who wish to develop the skills needed
for effective communication in both their personal and professional
lives.

6 - 8 pm  Fee: $25

Training for Tutor Volunteers

A continuing initiative reaching out into the community to tutor 3rd,
4th, 5th and 6th grade students. We are again partnering with the Ella
P. Stewart Academy to tutor girls in math. The tutor sessions occur
twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 A.M. until 9:30 A.M
starting October 5th. Each tutor is paired with one or two students and
stays with them from October until December. This is a highly rewarding
opportunity that will enrich your life. Please consider giving of your
time and your talent.

The backbone of all word processing. Take control of this software and
learn the many elements that comprise a professional document. Basic

Women and Money Series

Understanding finances can be a "bear" in any kind of market. During 5
weeks, you will learn how to develop a household budget, increase your
knowledge about credit scores, repair your credit and save for long-term
expenses and retirement. You also will learn the basics of investing,
insurance needs and planning during times of unexpected transition, such
as divorce or widowhood.  5:30 - 8:30 pm    Fee: $25

Spoken Words (Text on Paper)

This exhibit is an open call for your favorite words. Friends of the
Center are invited to send favorite poems, inspirational words,
quotations, and motivational text that has marked your journeys. To sign
up for Open Mic, call 419.530.8570.
